Travelling to India for treatment

Internationally accredited hospitals and senior surgeons, at a fraction of Western costs.

Why patients come here

India performs a very large volume of complex surgery — cardiac, orthopaedic, transplant and oncology — in hospitals accredited to international standards, and its senior consultants have usually trained or practised abroad. Volume matters clinically as well as commercially: a unit that performs a procedure every week runs a smoother pathway around it than one that performs it every month.

English is widely spoken in the hospitals we work with, which removes the single biggest source of friction in treatment abroad — being unsure what you have just been told.

Getting there

India issues a dedicated medical visa, and the invitation letter from the treating hospital is the document that unlocks it. We obtain that letter for you and set out what your embassy will ask for. Most patients travel with a companion, and the companion's visa is applied for at the same time rather than afterwards.

The major treatment cities have direct connections from across Africa, the Gulf, Central Asia and South-East Asia, so most journeys are a single flight.

Being here while you recover

Recovery accommodation near the hospital is straightforward to arrange and ranges widely in price, so it can be matched to what you want to spend. Pharmacies are close by and well stocked. Weather varies enormously by city and season — a Delhi summer and a Bengaluru winter are different propositions after surgery — so we factor that into where and when we suggest you go.

What we arrange

The visa invitation, appointments with the consultants who actually treat your condition, airport pickup, accommodation for you and your companion, an interpreter if you need one, and the follow-up plan you take home. One case manager holds all of it.
