Travelling to Thailand for treatment

A long-established destination for cosmetic, orthopaedic and cardiac care.

Why patients come here

Thailand has treated international patients for decades, and it shows in the parts of the experience that are easy to overlook: international patient departments that genuinely function, clear written quotations, and staff used to explaining a pathway to somebody who has just arrived. It is strongest in orthopaedics, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, cardiac care and dentistry.

Getting there

Entry is straightforward for most nationalities and the major hospitals are used to supporting visa applications where one is needed. Bangkok is one of the best-connected airports in Asia, so getting there is rarely the hard part of the trip.

Being here while you recover

Recovery accommodation is plentiful at every level, often within walking distance of the hospital, and many hospitals run their own serviced apartments. The climate is hot and humid year-round, which is comfortable for some recoveries and unhelpful for others — wound care in particular needs thinking about, and we will say so if it applies to your procedure.

English is widely used in the international hospitals, less so outside them, which is why an interpreter is worth arranging for anything beyond the hospital itself.

What we arrange

Consultant appointments, a written estimate before you commit, airport transfer, accommodation suited to how mobile you will be afterwards, interpreter support, and the follow-up schedule for your own doctor at home.
